All of us have a continuing commitment to life-long learning. As well as our own therapy and on-going supervision, we regularly attend the conferences, seminars and workshops of the psychoanalytic and somatic psychotherapy community — and have done so for decades. The events below are the ones we return to year after year.

The Freud Conference

An annual Melbourne conference bringing leading international psychoanalytic thinkers to Australia. It is a long-standing fixture in our continuing professional development and a touchstone for the psychoanalytic ideas that inform our work. freudconference.com

RANZCP Section of Psychotherapy

The Psychotherapy Section of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists runs conferences and seminars on contemporary psychotherapeutic practice that we attend to stay current with developments across the field. ranzcp.org

POPIG — Psychologists Psychoanalytic Interest Group

POPIG offers seminars at the intersection of psychology and psychoanalytic thinking. Its programme has long overlapped with the questions that matter most to our relational, depth-oriented practice.

Somatic Psychotherapy Association Events

As founding and long-term members of Australia's somatic psychotherapy profession, we have attended and presented at the conferences of the Australian Somatic Psychotherapy Association (ASPA) and its predecessor associations, now within PACFA. somaticpsychotherapy.asn.au

Attending these events keeps us in touch with colleagues in the psychotherapy community, helps us learn from leaders in the field, and brings renewal to our practice. You can read some of our reflections from individual conferences on the blog.
